About Boat Services & Outfitters:

Boat Services was begun in 1985 by Eric "Rick" Stam in Holland, MI. Rick had worked for Easter Marine of Holland for many years and started his own company to make use of the skill learned from his years in the boat business. His creation grew quickly and soon he and his staff were doing electronics installations, custom rigging work, metal fabrication, and nearly every kind of boat project imaginable.

In March of 2006 Rick died tragically while piloting his airplane. His company was then purchased by brothers, Tom and Bob DenHerder, of Zeeland, MI.

Boat Services was moved in 2007 to Yacht Basin Marina on the north side of Lake Macatawa. Substantial investments have been made in equipment, inventory stocking, and personnel with the goal of making Boat Services a regional player in boat repair, rigging and customization.

Electronics
Boat Services is simply the most complete marine electronics dealer and installer in the area. Anyone can install product, but it takes a specialist to integrate electronics into a functional, seamless network. Our technicians can design a custom layout and then manufacture the special mounts and panels that may be needed to fit your boat. Troubleshooting problems, handling warranty issues, and even supplying a loaner unit if your product is out for repair is our definition of great customer service.

Mechanical
Boat Services is this area's most complete Mercury Marine and Volvo Penta dealer. We have certified mechanics on staff who are up to date on the latest engines and products. Our mechanics don't have to troubleshoot by trial. They have current manuals, updates, software, and tools direct from Mercury Marine and Volvo Penta, and are experienced in diesel engines, sailboat engines, and special systems like hydraulic platform lifts.

In season, our store and parts department is open 7 days a week specializing in personalized customer service and next day parts.
